OPEN CALL FOR WOMEN & WOMEN-IDENTIFYING ARTISTS

Solo 2D Medium Exhibition | Theme: Womanhood

Presented by Gallery Lumina — Columbus, Ohio

Gallery Lumina is dedicated to uplifting, empowering, and inspiring women artists since 2025 in Columbus, Ohio, USA. We primarily support and promote local artists through our gallery and community initiatives.

We are now accepting submissions from women and women-identifying artists in Columbus and nearby areas for a solo 2D medium exhibition exploring the theme “Womanhood.”

This exhibition invites artists to reflect on identity, strength, vulnerability, culture, transformation, connection, memory, and the many experiences of being a woman. Womanhood is a vast and open subject that can inspire many artistic styles, forms, and interpretations. Artists are encouraged to experiment, explore, and express their unique perspectives freely.

IMPORTANT DATES

* Submission Deadline: June 15, 2026

* Artwork Drop-off & Installation: July 6, 2026 (July 7 may also be used if needed for installation/setup)

* Exhibition Dates: July 8–30, 2026

* Deinstallation & Artwork Pickup: July 31, 2026

ELIGIBILITY

* Open to women and women-identifying artists ages 18 and older

* Artists must be based in Columbus or nearby areas

* 2D artworks only (painting, drawing, mixed media, photography, printmaking, textile wall works, digital painting etc.)

* All artwork must be original and ready to hang

As Gallery Lumina is a family-friendly gallery space, we humbly request artists to submit only family-friendly works.

SUPPORT MATERIALS

Please submit:

* Artist bio and/or artist statement

* 5 original images of your artwork

No prior exhibition experience is required.

DISPLAY & INSTALLATION

* All artworks must be ready to hang or safely installable by the artist

* Gallery Lumina can assist with installation when possible

* If the artwork requires any specific display method, the artist must be present during installation

LIABILITY

Gallery Lumina is not liable for:

* Any accidents or injuries involving artists during installation or exhibition

* Damage to artworks including paintings or framed works

* Insurance coverage for artworks

Artists are encouraged to insure their own work if desired.

SALES

* Gallery commission: 25%

* Artist receives: 75% of all artwork sales

ARTIST BENEFITS

Selected artists will receive:

* Social media promotion and exposure

* A featured website/blog spotlight about the artist and her journey

* Networking and future exhibition opportunities through Gallery Lumina

EVENTS

Artist talks and opening reception details will be announced to selected artists closer to the exhibition dates.

OUR COMMITMENT

Gallery Lumina is flexible and willing to work collaboratively with artists who may have specific installation or accessibility needs.

SUBMISSION FEE

A non-refundable $30 participation fee is required to help cover exhibition-related expenses including tags, advertising, promotion, and gallery materials.
